The New Millennium Jazz Band has been performing the music of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin, Michael Buble and others, as well as Latin jazz to sold-out shows since 2012. They feature new arrangements of classic, big band jazz titles, along with incredible, modern big band arrangements from this millennia. These selections feature skilled, technical jazz solos by the band’s members.
The band's repertoire includes great vocals performing Frank Sinatra shows from a very extensive library of Sinatra classics. Also, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin and the Rat Pack. Classic big band titles such as ‘Summer Wind’, ‘Too Close For Comfort’, and ‘I Won’t Dance’ in the style of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and Jane Monheit as well as ‘The Lady Is A Tramp’ recently recorded by Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga.
The musicians in The New Millennium Jazz Band are the busiest musicians in the area. Members of the band have performed with many of today’s stars including Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Harry Connick, Buddy Rich, Arturo Sandoval and Natalie Cole. They are involved in every aspect of the professional musicians’ world in New York, from performing as ‘pit’ musicians in Broadway theater productions, as club date musicians, in recording sessions, in small groups at jazz venues, and in professional symphonic bands and orchestras.
Since April of 2010, Steve Perrillo, band leader, has created a jazz band where the foremost concept is to entertain their audiences with “modern big band arrangements performed by great jazz musicians.”
